Yes, you could raise Tilapia in a properly sized pond with the right conditions, however they may not propogate as much as you would desire. Fish are most commonly kept as pets in our ponds.
Keep your intake and skimmers clean and have a yearly cleanout completed to rejuvinate the water quality and habitat for your aquatic life.
There are a few options in this scenario, we can hire a specialist that breaks through the limestone, that excavation process can take 1-5 days depending on the pond and the density of the limestone. We can also do a pond partially or all above ground, contact us for more details.
Yes, there is an additional charge. For each foot of height you add there is a $400 fee per length of pond. (If your pond is 10', the additional 1' of heights will cost $400x10=$4000)
There are really 2 things:
The pump is heart of your pond, moving water and keeping your aquatic life healthy. Aquascape pumps are heavy duty and can take some neglect, but it is best to make sure your pump good working order and you perform maintenance for it to last long past your warranty.
There are warranties for the parts as provided by aquascapes, and the installation is warranted for 1 year through Lone Star Waterscapes, if there is something not quite right...call us!
A 10 x 8 pond would have a square foot surface area around 80 sq ft.
Circle ponds and irregular shaped ponds are a bit more challenging to calculate. The below steps assume your pond is a perfect circle. If it is not you may need to estimate.
If your pond has a diameter of 10 ft it has a radius of 5 ft it would roughly have a square foot surface area of 78.5 sq ft. (5x5=25x3.14=78.50)
