Early 2020, January, we started our waterscapes journey. Chris and Christy had been wanting to start a business for a long time, one that could grow with their family. Having six kids together, they knew they definitely had enough muscle; they just needed the know-how to make it happen.

Cut to 2020, Aquascape LLC, our supplier, offered an intensive waterscape training course across the country. We hopped on a plane and worked hand-in-hand with the professionals to make custom ponds, water features, etc. Christy focused on the business training side, while Chris focused on the design and building side. Together, they made a cohesive business plan, and got to work right away. Then and there, the foundation for Lone Star Waterscapes was laid. 

Unforeseeably, 2020 was the wrong year to start a business. We were based in San Jose, California at the time. This was one of the earliest places to open up the lockdown. Trapped inside with five out of six kids doing Zoom school, we weren't able to get anything off the ground. That didn't stop us from working though. On our property we were able to install a pond, stacked slate urn, and pondless waterfall, all in about 6 months. 

We were able to make connections, practice, and learn from our mistakes, and as a business we became stronger because of it. Unfortunately, we realized that California was not going to do us any favors, and if we wanted to get started, we had to make it happen. So, Chris and Christy threw their family in their car, and moved to San Antonio.
